Constructive Play. Whenever a child is creating or constructing something they are engaging in constructive play. Experimenting with materials they can build towers with blocks construct objects with miscellaneous loose parts play in the sand and draw sidewalk murals with chalk.
When children manipulate their environment to create things they are engaged in constructive play. Put simply constructive play is when children use material to create or build something. Constructive play is simply what happens when kids use toys or other non toy materials to build or create something new.
Typically it includes activities associated with construction such as dissembling moulding assembling sorting or stacking.
Super simple amazingly fun and very effective. This can come in the form of building blocks drawing with crayons making forms in sand or mud forming science experiments or even disassembling those very same things. Constructive play starts during the toddler years as children begin imitating their parents and peers and continues throughout childhood and can involve any number of toys or materials. Constructive play is simply what happens when kids use toys or other non toy materials to build or create something new.
